Denver Decks Amazing Custom Covered Decks

Unique Backyard Covered Decks with No Money Down

A deck cover as opposed to a patio cover, is anything that goes over a deck, an actual framed structure deck whether it's a grade level garden-level second-story deck as opposed to a patio cover that's going over a paver patio or a concrete patio or some sort of patio surface for a Hardscape.

Design a Custom Covered Deck & Ceiling to your house with a Gable Roof, Flat Roof, or Shed Roof Style

With a deck cover, if you are in a grade level application and it’s a two-story home you have all three options of roof styles. First, you have a shed roof, which attaches to the house and comes directly off to support posts. Next, you have a gable roof, which is an A-frame that sheds to the side and actually carries back to the house. Finally you have a Hip roof, which is like a gable roof with a shed across the front.  The most affordable style is going to be a shed roof because we're going to attach it, we're going to ledger it to the house and then we're going to get the proper pitch and we're going to put the proper amount of casings.

Your Trusted & Experienced Covered Deck Builder

A gable roof actually means you have to open up the sides of the house. A gable roof, because it's an A-frame, your beams are on the side, so the support post are out front but then you have to open up the house and put the beams into the house. I have seen people do a gable roof where they have the post on the outside, it's definitely not recommended & building permitters don't like to see it that way, not to mention that it just doesn't look right, doesn’t look thought out. We always want to make it look like it came with the home. That's what we specialize in building deck covers that look like the builder installed them, matching all of the existing conditions with the eaves and the shingles in the pitches as much as possible.

How much does it cost to build a covered deck?

Estimates suggest that the cost to build patio covers falls between $8,369 and $25,268. The national average cost is $16,667. The average cost per square foot ranges from $22 to $75, which is based on the features, labor, and material used.

Then there are a variety of different electrical options. We get asked often about infrared heaters, keep in mind with infrared heaters that there is a massive electrical draw, so it typically requires a sub panel or an upgraded panel upgrade at the house, it draws 220 amps, just like your your range oven, or washer and dryer or a hot tub, so it ends up adding a lot more than most homeowners would think. With covered decks and patios, the shed styled roof the most affordable and then a Gable and a hip roof are fairly similar in cast. Now that’s if you are able to attach in between the 1st and Second Story. Now if it’s grade level deck or it's a single story home or 2 second level deck on a walkout Ranch then usually you're going to have to go with the gable roof that actually carried back up onto the existing roof line now again because we specialize in matching existing conditions there are certain things that we do to get that to tie and properly.

Are covered decks worth it?

If you want your deck to last a long time, consider having  a deck cover built over it. Although it will cost you money, it will save you from having to repair your deck often. A deck cover will protect your deck from rain and debris, and it will even keep the sun off it during hot days. This is a great way to keep your deck in good condition.

All structures require a permit and we handle that process for you. With all major cities, like Westminster, Littleton, Broomfield, Denver and surrounding areas, you must have a permit pulled. We’re licensed and I believe there's 41 different building departments in the city of 41 so don't let anybody tell you that project does not need a permit because it does. It's never cost prohibitive to pull a permit and ultimately the building departments make sure that we're doing our job accurately. Having already mentioned that we do specialize in building structures that look like they came with the home we also build custom structures with cedar elements that are more of that contrast to the existing condition so those are certainly an option.

Does a covered deck increase home value?

The 2021 Cost vs. Value Report from Remodeling magazine has highlighted the deck addition as a top 10 outdoor home improvement. A wood deck is estimated to cost an average of $16,766, and is expected to recoup approximately 68% of its value upon sale. On the other hand, a composite deck is estimated to cost approximately $22,426, and is expected to recoup around 63%. This data provides useful insight for home owner, when making decisions about home improvement investments.
